Tenex Procedure
Tenex is a minimally invasive procedure that can help eliminate chronic tendon pain by precisely targeting and removing damaged tissue without the need for conventional surgery.
Tenex was developed at the Mayo clinic and has been shown to help tendon pain in over 85% of patients. The procedure is minimally invasive, and performed percutaneously with a micro incision that is so small it does not require stitches. Dr. Johnson uses ultrasound to identify the damaged tissue and then uses the tenex needle to safely break down and removed painful, damaged tissue while preserving healthy tendon tissue. In this manner therapeutic treatment is targeted, stimulates healing and allows for more rapid return to function. Dr. Johnson has performed tenex procedures for over 10 years and well over 100,000 procedures have been performed using the Tenex Health TX system. When physical therapy, medications, cortisone injections fail.... surgery and a longer recovery may be avoided. The tenex procedure may also prove effective in failed surgical procedures or to avoid additional surgery.
